About
SMALL FARMERS JOURNAL
This is the large distinctive
international quarterly, famous for its fierce support of
the independent family farm. Small Farmer's Journal
offers detailed, modern information on the use of
animal-power for twenty-first century farming.
Also included in each issue is a rich array of
information on any and every subject appropriate to the
small farm. Thousands of Journal readers consider SFJ an
indispensible farming tool.
"We finally moved to our small farm last November
and I just bought a team of handsome mules. Ten years of
Small Farmer's Journal nourished my dreams and helped
bring them to fruition. I'm not sure I would have gone
back to a small farm had I not discovered your Journal.
Somehow the word "Thanks" seems very
small."
Gary L. Brewer, Marble Hill, MO.
For the love of the craft of good farming.

About FARM ROMANCE & adventure
When Lars Johansen, in for coffee at
Bertie's Store, laughed at the mention of Farm Romance he
hadn't counted on a broken-hearted Irishman's tirade.
Bertie said, " Time was when romance mattered to
farmers. They didn't call it that. They didn't call it
'romance'. They called it the 'feel' of the business,
they called it 'good times', they called it 'comfort',
they called it 'why we go on', they called it ' the
rooster's crow in early morn', they called it 'that smell
of pies cooling on the sill', they called it 'that tear
in mama's eye', they called it 'the fat boy's pet hog',
they called it 'the drunken goose', they called it 'the
new calf's velvet nose', they called it 'a fine set of
heifers', they called it 'the new green of spring oats',
they called it 'the full barn', they called it
'tomorrow's projects', they..." and he went on and
on, half in sadness and half in a taunt, daring us not to
feel our innards.
Farm Romance & adventure is
